For 30 years, Sue Coccia has created intricate, hand drawn wildlife art celebrating animals and the ecosystems that sustain them. Before beginning each piece, Sue researches the animal’s habitat, relationships, and threats to its survival. Working with Micron pens and watercolor paper, she draws from the center outward, weaving hidden animals, plants, weather patterns, and various symbolism into each design. Every line is drawn by hand.

Every line is drawn by hand. Hidden within every image is a ladybug, a symbol of good luck and happiness.

Sue founded EarthArt International in 1996 with the belief that art can deepen our connection to wildlife and help protect it. That connection to nature carries into Sue’s life outside the studio, where she enjoys gardening, meditation, and spending time outdoors. She is also a black belt in Taekwondo and a proud grandmother.

Conservation has been part of EarthArt from the beginning. Sue and her family have supported organizations including Save Our Wild Salmon, the Center for Whale Research, and Orca Network, while donating thousands of coloring books, stickers and note cards for education and conservation efforts. From her studio in Edmonds, Washington, Sue continues to create art with the same purpose: to celebrate wildlife, reveal the interconnectedness of nature, and help protect the animals that inspire her work.
